MUYUKA : Joint Conference Flaunts Vitality

The Fako II Section of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, CPDM, party, Fako division of the South West region held a big joint section conference on Friday October 21 in Muyuka.

The conference took place under the theme: “All Unite and Gather Behind H.E President Paul Biya, the Guarantor of Peace, National Unity and Living Together”. The CPDM Section President Fako II Hon Findi Stanley Mokondo, and his team hit a feat, because political gatherings are rare since the ongoing crisis broke in 2016. Seeing the turn out, Hon Findi Stanley Mokondo had teary eyes. He thanked the militants, supporters and sympathizers for coming. “To the militants of the section, I say congratulations. Your respective resilience and steadfastness in upholding the values of the party during this challenging moment can never be undermined”.
Back in 2020, the Member of Parliament was voted into office and he used last week’s gathering to express his gratitude for the confidence the people bestowed upon him.
The MP had soothing words for the victims of the conflict in the Anglophone regions. The crisis has forced many out of their homes, schools have been disrupted, and properties have been destroyed and lives taken, some in the most brutal manner. In Muyuka various units of the party cannot meet again. But the joint conference seems to signal better days and eventual return of peace. Despite the hostilities against the party, the CPDM remains attractive. During the conference members of the opposition decamped into the CPDM.

Requests Aplenty
Some resolutions of the Fako II Section of Muyuka read out during the conference asked government to raise Muyuka to a full-fledged division. The militants also requested jobs for the youth and appointment of militants from the area into top government positions.
Beyond asking for solutions to the local problems in Muyuka, Hon Findi gifted some didactic school materials to students from subdivision, a generator to the Police in Muyuka to ease the production of National Identity cards. He also offered lawn mowers to the Muyuka district hospital. To the farmers, the MP gave water bumps, cutlasses, and corn splitting machines.
Present at the conference was the member of the Fako CPDM Central Committee Permanent Divisional Delegation, Franklin Ngoni Njie, Senator Mbella Moki Charles, Mayor of Muyuka, Section Presidents of WCPDM and YCPDM. The Fako II section is made up of 30 sub sections, 180 branches and 360 Cells spawned across 18 villages of Muyuka sub division.
