After Receiving Attributes : Like Biya, Regina Mundi Begins Mandate in Church

Senator Regina Mundi who was appointed into the senate by President Paul Biya has begun the five-year mandate with a thanksgiving in church.

Sunday after receiving her attributes as the senator of the Cameroon parliament, Senator Regina Mundi attended church service at the Presbyterian Church Nsimeyong, Yaoundé. Senator preferred to start her mandate with a thanksgiving. “We cannot thank Him [God] enough”, she said. “The power of prayer is immeasurable. Prayer is powerful,” she explained why she had decided to go to church first after receiving her attributes on Saturday. While serving in her first mandate, Senator Regina Mundi was kidnapped in the North West region and kept by her captors for a month. She was freed from captivity by the Cameroon military. She made it alive where many have be on killed. She attributes her release to prayers “from people I don’t know and may never meet them”, she said. Senator Regina Mundi was accompanied by family, friends, mentees and elite from the North West region. Senator Regina Mundi was appointed on her birthday March 30, 2023. Meanwhile, colleagues of Senator Regina Mundi threw parties on Saturday April 15, in honour of their entry into the senate for the third legislature of the upper house.
Senator Ndosiri Picks Empowerment
The senator from Mezam division [the first female from the area] in the North West region, Prof Ndosiri Bridget Nebah picked out time during her party last Saturday to layout her vision for the five-year mandate. Senator Prof Ndosiri Bridget Nebah says her mandate will orbit on the empowerment of women and girls. No surprise as she is leaving from the ministry of Women Empowerment and the Family where she was technical adviser to the senate. Before her stop over at that ministry, the Professor of inorganic chemistry was keen on women affairs and the plight of the girl child.
At the common meal she offered to celebrate her entry into the senate, Prof Ndosiri Bridget made a promise to work with individuals and groups for the full return of peace in Mezam, and the North West Region. All the speakers at the event agreed she has the capacity to deliver.
Senator Mbella Moki Goes for Citizens
Known for his open-mindedness and franc-parler Mbella Moki Charles, the Senator from the South West region says he will improve on his record. Speaking after receiving his accoutrements he said: “the collective efforts of each and every one of us from local councils to regional councils. All of that will need the consented effort of each and every one of us”. “I don’t work on promises. I work on records. My record is there and it is for me to improve on what I did before. I will continue to be who I am”, he declared.
After the attributes, senators celebrated the achievement of being among the 100 senators with colleagues, comrades, friends, family, and communities. Who makes it to the senate bureau is the next wish for many of the senators.
