To take place on 9 February 2025 at the Municipal Grandstand it aims at equipping CPDM militants ahead of upcoming Elections.
The Menchum IV section being a boarder section in that it shares boundaries with Nigeria is subject to challenges which local authorities of the CPDM on ground have thought it wise to address during the upcoming joint section conference. In order to ensure that militants are on point ahead of time in this electoral year, they are putting all hands-on deck to ensure a smooth run. According to Danjuma Fidelis Soncha, “our mission during this joint section conference is to mobilize all party militants, educate, revamp and consolidate party activities in our section in preparedness for forthcoming elections”, he said.
Registration on the voter’s lists is ongoing and it is incumbent of these local authorities to ensure that militants get registered and enter in possession of their voters’ cards. One of the most serious challenges the people are faced with is the lack of birth certificates. The party authorities on the field are also seeking ways to ensure that those who don’t have these vital documents should be helped to acquire them. The section President has expressed the desire to start preparations early because of the porous nature of his section. In his words “Furu Awa is a very fertile land that attracts people from in and out, including Nigerians who come to buy Timber. Their coming also brings insecurity as these Nigerians sometimes engage in tribal wars with the locals. Coupled with the armed separatists who have chosen the forests to sought refuge thus making the area unsafe from many fronts”, Danjuma said.
These and many other problems are worth educating the militants on how to stay true to their choice in the upcoming election. Without mincing words, the section president said “the CPDM has blessed us with so much in terms of development projects, most of which are being realized even now. There is therefore need for us to school our people on the importance of registering and voting for the CPDM when the time comes”, he insisted.
The distractions that will come from other political parties are also an important aspect that must be handled with care, The sections authorities are thus rallying all militants and setting them on the right path.
