As Cameroon gears up for the upcoming presidential election, the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, CPDM, is leaving no stone unturned to ensure victory for their candidate, Paul Biya.
One dynamic youth leader who has been making waves in the Fako West Constituency is Njie Makongo Ngombi, CEO of the Njie Makongo Family Hope Foundation.
Njie Makongo’s commitment to the CPDM was on full display during the recent Youth Day celebrations on February 11, 2025. He donated 1000 T-shirts to young militants of the Fako 5 Section in Idenau and Fako 3 Section in Buea, a gesture that was hailed by the YCPDM Sections and Sub-Sections of the Fako West Constituency.
But Njie Makongo’s support didn’t stop there. He also provided cash donations to facilitate the transportation and participation of YCPDM militants in far-off areas of the constituency. His timely donations added firepower to the extraordinary mobilization efforts of the Fako 5 CPDM Section President, Mr. Emmanuel Penda Mokonge, the Fako 3 YCPDM Section, Mr. Ndive Meende, and the Fako 5 YCPDM Section President, Mr. Robert Mapoka.
Njie Makongo’s dynamism and leadership skills were on full display as he marched with the youths in Idenau, cementing his reputation as a proximity leader who is in touch with the needs and aspirations of the youth. His actions have sent a strong signal that he is committed to rallying the youths behind the CPDM and ensuring a landslide victory for their candidate in the upcoming presidential election.
As one senior political figure in Idenau noted, Njie Makongo’s leadership style is a breath of fresh air in a constituency that has lacked effective political leadership for over five years. With his energy, passion, and commitment to the CPDM, Njie Makongo is definitely one to watch in the lead-up to the presidential election.
The remarkable progress made by youths of Idenau can be attributed to their empowerment by various elite of the area and their education on republican values. By instilling values such as patriotism, national unity and civic responsibility, Njie Makongo has been rallying youths to become promoters of peace and stability in their community.
