Welfare and Development of the Rural Woman : Hon. Njume Peter Recommits

The Member of Parliament for Ndian (Ekondo Titi) constituency, joined women to commemorate the International Day of the woman, reassuring them of his constant support.

At the highly attended event, held at the Ekondo Titi Municipal Grandstand, and presided over by the Sub-Divisional Delegate for Women’s Empowerment and the Family, under the watchful eyes of Divisional Officer Ful Francis Muh; they came to reacknowledge the key role and place of the woman in society. Also in attendance was Margaret Ndiba, Mayor of Ekondo Titi Council, whose presence further underscored the significance of the occasion.

A defining moment of the celebration was when Hon. Njume’s generous empowerment initiative was highlighted. Alongside his wife, the MP provided women with vital agricultural tools, including trucks for transporting crops, improved-quality maize seedlings, machetes, and other essential farming equipment. This initiative aimed at boosting productivity, ease the challenges of the rural women farmers, and enhance food security within the community. Women from different backgrounds, particularly the Donga Mantung and Bafmen communities residing in Ekondo Titi, expressed profound appreciation for Hon. Njume’s unwavering support. Describing him as “more than a father,” they praised his continued dedication to their well-being and economic advancement. Divisional Officer Ful Francis Muh lauded the MP’s contributions, highlighting his visible and behind-the-scenes efforts in fostering development within the sub-division. Mayor Margaret Ndiba echoed this sentiment, commending Hon. Njume for his consistent collaboration in maintaining stability and driving progress in Ekondo Titi.

Hon. Njume underscored Ekondo Titi’s exemplary spirit of peaceful coexistence. “Ekondo Titi is the epitome of living together. Here, people from all over Cameroon reside without conflict, demonstrating that unity is not just an ideal but a lived reality,” he stated.
