Bafut : CPDM Militants Demonstrate Political Strength

Party militants staged a prominent show of loyalty to President Paul Biya’s administration despite ongoing security challenges in the Region.

Section President for CPDM Mezam IV, Ngwakongoh Lawrence led the party’s organized mobilization effort, directing chants that echoed across the ceremonial grounds and advocating for President Paul Biya’s continued leadership. « Our presence here today is not accidental, » he declared. « It is the fruit of dedicated grassroots mobilization and the visible transformation brought about by President Paul Biya’s development projects in Bafut. We stand with him, and we ask for more, not just in loyalty, but in shared progress. You don’t change a winning team. »

The CPDM’s coordinated participation marked political strongman show in a region that has experienced considerable conflict-related disruptions, particularly for political activism. The party has once more marched up its ability to organize and mobilize supporters, demonstrating institutional resilience and continued grassroots engagement in areas affected by unrest.

The strong turnout of party supporters provided a backdrop for broader community participation in the event, which was presided over by Divisional Officer Forku Djokem Andelys. The ceremony marked a notable shift in public engagement within the subdivision, with residents participating in large numbers despite regional security challenges. « I begin by congratulating the people of Bafut for their maturity and courage in turning out in large numbers, » the Divisional Officer stated. « This is not just a celebration; it is a powerful affirmation of our belief in one and indivisible Cameroon. I urge all forces within Bafut to collaborate with security services to restore the peace that once defined this vibrant subdivision. As the theme of this year’s celebration emphasizes, sustainable peace is only possible through the active participation of our citizens. »

Member of Parliament, Hon. Agho Oliver of Bafut/Tubah constituency reinforced the political significance of the gathering. He holds that it is proof of maturity and civic engagement of Bafut constituents. « I saw more than just a crowd, I saw commitment, courage, and belief in the future of this nation. The people of Bafut have shown they are ready to serve, ready to safeguard peace, and uphold the vision of a united Cameroon. This is the spirit that must carry us forward. » Hon. Agho Oliver observed.

Cultural performances punched the celebration, integrating local customs into the national framework while maintaining the political momentum generated by the CPDM’s organized participation. The base is now set, as the CPDM leadership in the Region looks forward to political gains for the party this year.
