Mobilisation Ahead of Presidential Race : Kupe Muanenguba Promises Biya Landslide Victory

The Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) in Kupe Muanenguba Division has declared unwavering loyalty to President Paul Biya, vowing to deliver a landslide victory in the October 2025 presidential election.

The declaration was made by Professor Ngolle Ngolle Elvis, Head of the Central Committee Permanent Divisional Delegation, during a high-level strategic meeting in Bangem on Saturday, July 12. Professor Ngolle Ngolle Elvis reminded militants and officials that Kupe Muanenguba has consistently stood with President Paul Biya since the division’s creation in 1992. “Our vision is to deliver results for President Biya,” he said. “There is so much talk about our champion and leader that it is time for him to go. Our role is not to abandon the one we have adopted as our leader, father, and patron.”

He tasked party officials to mobilise all 138,000 registered voters in the division to vote massively for President Biya on October 12, adding, “Let’s show that this campaign is one of fraternity, brotherhood, and sisterhood. By September 2025, let’s have the funds ready.”

The Bangem meeting, held on Saturday July 12, came just one day after President Paul Biya signed a decree on Friday July 11, convening the Electoral College for the presidential elections. Interestingly, while Biya had not yet publicly declared his candidacy at the time of the meeting, the Kupe Muanenguba CPDM was already rallying behind him. The President would go on to formally announce his candidacy on Sunday night, July 13 – one day after the strategic gathering.

The session culminated in the unveiling of a proposed FCFA 70 million campaign budget, presented by Ewane Clifford Ngabe, Treasurer of the South West Regional House of Assembly. He outlined the expected contributions from ministers, directors, MPs, senators, board chairs, mayors, and elite of the division. The amount, he added, could be adjusted based on stakeholder commitment.

The Mayor of Bangem, Ekungwe Kang Christopher, cautioned against internal blackmail targeting local authorities, warning that such acts may tarnish the party’s image. He, along with the mayors of Nguti and Tombel, highlighted the achievements of CPDM-run councils in the division.

MPs Hon. Cecilia Dione Njumbe (Kupe Muanenguba I) and Hon. Dr. Fonge Julius (Kupe Muanenguba II) echoed their support, presenting ongoing development projects in their constituencies carried out under the CPDM banner. HRM Chief Dr. Atem Ebako, President of the South West House of Chiefs, called on militants to vote with conscience and commitment to ensure Kupe Muanenguba remains a stronghold of CPDM loyalty.

The meeting was coordinated by Mbong Michael Mbine, Charge de Mission at the Central Committee, and brought together high-ranking personalities including the SDO Mungambo Ekema William, CDC Board Chair Hope Sona Ebai, SOWEDA Board Chair Herbert Ediage, and traditional rulers.
