October Presidential Election : Meme Division Unites for CPDM Victory

The head of the Permanent Divisional Delegation of the CPDM Central Com- mittee, Justice Benjamin Itoe has chal- lenged militants to bury all hatchets, unite as one, and secure victory for their candidate, Paul Biya.

During an enlarged meeting of CPDM militants in Meme Division, that held at the Kumba city council hall, in preparation for the October presidential election, militants were tasked to engage in a massive door to door sensitization and mobilisation of grassroots. Such a strategy, the party’s officials stated Awould easily weaken and defeat the opposition SDF. The meeting chaired by Justice Benjamin Itoe, head of the Meme Permanent Divisional Delegation of the Central Committee, brought together militants from the five sections of the party in Meme Division.

The first and most important tool for victory is for militants to collect their voters’ card from Elecam. To facilitate this, different commissions were put in place. Fully aware of the difficult task to defeat the SDF especially in Kumba Central, militants resolved that massive sensitization, unity and collaboration with the different party organs were the tools required to attain such daunting task. Justice Benjamin Itoe in full confidence and assurance stated “SDF has no place in Kumba and Meme Division again. We have neutralized them completely. The works of our CPDM Mayors and Parliamentarians are very visible and the population is fully convinced with the CPDM”.

Despite the assurances, Itoe Benjamin urged party organs to maintain cordial relationships with the grassroots to further gain their confidence. “From now to the election day, our relationship with the grassroots must be strengthened, CPDM should be our language of communication. Through this the opposition SDF will have no access to penetrate our militants”.

Carrying out an effective mobilisation and sensitization of militants  equally  requires  great financial resources, reasons why the various section presidents received funds from the Divisional coordinator to support  the exercise. A general fundraising campaign will be launched in the days ahead, for effective campaign that will be declared. With all these, the five section presidents pledged to secure victory by penetrating the hinterlands to get all militants on board. With a high degree of security now witnessed in remote villages, the CPDM party is confident that accessibility to the villages will be guaranteed.
