Bui : Fai Yengo Leads Final CPDM Push

As Cameroon heads toward its October 12 presidential election, Fai Yengo Francis, head of the CPDM divisional campaign in Bui Division, has intensified his grassroots outreach, aiming for nothing short of a 100% victory for incumbent President Paul Biya.

Since the official campaign launch in Bamenda on September 27, the former governor and National Coordinator of the Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration (DDR) Programme has criss-crossed Bui Division, holding strategic meetings, engaging with traditional authorities, youth, women, and local stakeholders to rally support for the ruling party. “Bui Division has always been a bastion of the CPDM. This time, we’re ensuring a total sweep for President Biya,” Fai Yengo told supporters during a high-energy rally in Oku. “We know our history. We know our leader. And we know where we are headed with Biya.”

From Nkum to Kumbo, Fai Yengo has delivered a consistent message: that President Biya remains the best choice for peace, stability, and development particularly in the conflict-affected English-speaking regions.

Highlighting the President’s Special Status offer for the North West and South West Regions, the establishment of Regional Assemblies, and enhanced decentralization, Fai Yengo argued that Biya has responded to local grievances with institutional reforms and increased empowerment of local communities.

“Our people must not be misled by noise,” he cautioned. “President Biya is a beggar of peace, a father of dialogue, and the only candidate with the capacity to keep Cameroon united and stable.”

At each stop, Fai Yengo has also reminded voters of the President’s long-standing commitment to appointing sons and daughters of Bui to national leadership positions, an act, he says, that reflects Biya’s trust in the region’s potential and loyalty.

“He’s given our people responsibilities. He’s invested in our human capital. And today, Bui is proud to stand behind him once again,” he declared.

To bolster campaign visibility, the CPDM campaign team in Bui reportedly imported 10,000 tons of high-quality CPDM fabrics from Türkiye, now being distributed across the division. Door-to-door campaigns are also ongoing, targeting every household in what Fai Yengo has described as a “mission of clarity and conviction.”

Traditional leaders, youth groups, and women’s associations in Bui have also voiced their support for Biya, calling him “a symbol of unity” and pledging full turnout on election day. Fai Yengo ended his Kumbo address with a direct appeal: “The stakes are too high to experiment with the future. On Sunday, Bui will vote not just for Paul Biya but for peace, for progress, and for a Cameroon that works for all.”

With just days to go, the CPDM’s presence in Bui is being felt deeply through music, cultural displays, strategic meetings, and a pervasive call to vote “massively” for Biya. As one elder in Nkum put it, “When a wise elder leads, the village follows.”
