Tubah : Population Turns Out to Vote in Calm

The electorate of Tubah Subdivision cast their ballots on 12 October 2025, a positive step, demonstrating the community’s determination to participate in the democratic process despite the challenging security context.

In an atmosphere marked by calm and order, a welcome respite for a community still grappling with the lingering effects of the ongoing socio-political crisis, citizens freely fulfilled their civic responsibility, offering a glimpse of normalcy and hope for the restive region.

The electoral process, which saw a registered voter population of 32,000 according to Elections Cameroon (ELECAM), unfolded smoothly across six designated polling stations. These centres- located in Sabga, CCAST Bambili for the rural populace, a separate facility in Bambili for the student population, Bambui Youth Empowerment Centre, Government Practising School Bambui, and Kejom Keku (Big Babanki) managed the day’s proceedings without incident.

The significant voter turnout followed a fortnight of intense political campaigning in the area, championed predominantly by the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM). The build-up to the polls was further underscored by a preparatory tour on October 12, where the Governor of the North West Region, Adolphe Lele Lafrique, visited the various voting structures to assess readiness and ensure all logistical measures were in place.

Echoing the observations of many on the ground, Hon. Agho Oliver, Member of Parliament for Tubah, expressed his satisfaction with the day’s events. He lauded the population for their massive turnout.

Meanwhile in a grand finale to the 2025 presidential campaign in Sabga, Hon. Agho Oliver, Member of Parliament for the Tubah-Bafut constituency, brought his constituency’s mobilisation efforts to a close in Sabga with a significant display of philanthropy and political assurance, urging voters to return President Paul Biya to power.

The event, held in Sabga and attended by party followers from Sabga and Babanki Tungo, saw the MP, accompanied by Mr. Awunti of the Regional Assembly, strike a chord with the local community through direct social intervention. Hon. Agho Oliver donated a cash sum of 500,000 FCFA to assist in the completion of the Sabga main mosque, pledging further readiness to assist as needs arise. Extending his support beyond infrastructure, the legislator also provided school kits for students for the upcoming 2025-2026 academic year, supplemented with essential foodstuffs and other basic necessities for the community. He assured the populace that a vote for President Paul Biya would unlock even greater developmental dividends, above their expectations. The Lamido of Sabga, adding his voice to the sentiments of his people, unanimously pledged a “100 percent vote” for President Paul Biya in the election.
