Festive Solidarity : Njie Makongo Brings Christmas Cheer to Widows

Youth leader and philanthropist Njie Makongo Ngombi has extended timely support to widows in the Bonjongo Court Area, reinforcing his growing reputation as a committed advocate for community empowerment, particularly for women and youths.

More than 100 widows in the Bonjongo Court Area were the beneficiaries of a generous humanitarian gesture on Tuesday, 23 December 2025, as the Chief Executive Officer of the Njie Family Hope Foundation donated a large consignment of food and household items to ease their festive season.
The donation, which took place in Bojoke Village, comprised bags of rice, gallons of cooking oil, bags of salt and cartons of soap, with the total value estimated at 2.5 million FCFA. The atmosphere was marked by emotion and gratitude as beneficiaries described the support as timely and reassuring, particularly at a period traditionally associated with increased household needs.
Coordinated by Madam Sophie Kama, the Foundation’s focal point in the Bonjongo Court Area, the initiative is part of a broader pattern of social interventions by Njie Makongo aimed at improving livelihoods and strengthening social protection at the community level.
In a further show of commitment to women’s economic empowerment, Njie Makongo also donated 300,000 FCFA to the Fako Women Development Association (FAWODA), Bonjongo, an organisation founded by the late Madam Anne Mojoko Musonge. He reaffirmed his resolve to sustain the association’s mission of empowering rural women, describing it as a cause that aligns with his personal values and long-term vision.
Speaking at the event, Njie Makongo underscored his determination to contribute meaningfully to national development efforts that place women and youths at the centre. He assured beneficiaries and community members that such initiatives would continue, stressing that his engagement goes beyond seasonal charity to a sustained drive for economic empowerment and social inclusion.
This festive outreach stands as one of many concrete actions through which the young philanthropist continues to translate vision into impact, reaffirming his belief that lasting development begins with empowered communities.
