Upcoming Electoral Cycle : Nkuété Launches CPDM’s March

Behind the congratulations and calls for vigilance lies a broader effort to shape the narrative of power, manage anxieties and tighten party discipline.

As Cameroon enters a crucial political phase, the Secretary General’s communiqué reaffirms the CPDM’s confidence in President Paul Biya’s leadership while sounding a rallying call for unity, vigilance and intensified grassroots mobilisation ahead of future elections. The communiqué is the party’s reading of the national mood and the direction it intends to pursue. Drawing from the massive participation witnessed during the May 20 National Day celebrations and the historic visit of Pope Leo XIV, it is evident that Cameroonians remain deeply attached to peace, stability and the institutions of the Republic.

At the heart of the message is the conviction that President Paul Biya continues to embody the stability and foresight required to navigate a rapidly changing world. Recent institutional reforms, notably the creation of the office of Vice-President of the Republic, are evidence of a leadership preparing the nation for the future while safeguarding continuity and investor confidence.

Yet beneath the celebratory tone lies a clear political directive. Faced with what it describes as growing disinformation, tribal manipulation and attempts to undermine State institutions, the CPDM is calling on its militants to close ranks. The insistence on discipline, message control and party cohesion reflects a determination to prevent internal divisions from distracting the movement as the electoral calendar draws closer. The strongest signal, however, is the emphasis on grassroots mobilisation. By directing party structures to intensify voter registration monitoring and strengthen their presence in electoral constituencies, the CPDM is making it clear that preparations for future electoral battles have already begun. The objective is unambiguous: consolidate existing majorities and reinforce the party’s political dominance nationwide.

Ultimately, the communiqué portrays a CPDM convinced that its fortunes remain tied to the vision of President Paul Biya. It is a message of confidence, continuity and mobilisation, one that seeks to reassure supporters while reminding them that the preservation of stability and the pursuit of national development require constant vigilance and collective commitment.
