Road Reconstruction Works : In Progress

Was Never Just a Campaign Strategy After All

Major projects to rebuild bad roads in Cameroon’s cities continues despite insinuations that it was a mere superficial or a misleading presentation designated to create a favorable impression ahead of elections. In the city of Yaounde for example, the Carrefour Obili- Biscuiterie -Carrefour Biyem Assi road stretch which had become almost impassable has been given a facelift. The lycée Etoug-Ebe, the Paul Biya Glass House road stretch in Ngoa- Ekelle, the road portion below the Yaounde central hospital, leading to Education and many more have witnesses renovation works.

Presidential elections have come and gone and Cameroon is now gearing up to the November 30 rendezvous of elections for regional councilors. Repair works on the Cameroon city roads continue.

Works include the rebuilding, widening and improving of pavements, sections and portions of roads that had degraded. In most of the cities like Yaounde, some of such projects are still on going, some of them have been completed already while others are yet to be engaged.

President Paul Biya at his inauguration was emphatic that a lot will change for the better of the nation of Cameroon and for Cameroonians in this seven-year mandate.

This includes the provision of a good road network, which is key to the advancement and growth of the economy.

Roads are a major contributor to the boosting of the country’s trade and economic development. Paul Biya is too responsible to neglect such a pivotal sector in the country’s growth and advancement bead.

It is worthwhile trusting and believing that the Head of State knows the key role of good a road network and that in his usual manner he will ensure that all major and minor road projects engaged or yet to commence be given a good completion for the good Cameroonians.

There is no gainsaying that doing this will also serve as palpable proof of his good will to respect his campaign promises to Cameroonians.

Cameroon is thus developing its road works and more, this before, during and after Campaigns which come and go while Cameroon and Cameroonians remain.
