Ngie : Peace, Unity tournament kicks off

Youths in Ngie Subdivision in Momo are engaging in holiday activities including sports to keep them away from wrong habits.

The powerful initiative by Justice Mbah  Acha Rose nee Fomundam, Minister delegate at the Presidency in charge of Supreme State Audit aims at reigniting the spirt of togetherness, growth, unity and peace in the Ngie youth. Widely welcomed by residents, it will strengthen social cohesion amongst youths while providing them with a meaningful and a productive way to spend the holiday period. For a locality still recovering from separatist hostilities, residents believe that this tournament will go a long way to rekindle the spirit of hard work in the youths and also make them discover hidden talent.

Many of the youths have also continued to express their appreciations to the Minister and to some elite like Stephen Ujambeng Andong who are working hard to bring them back to their feet and to the lime light for responsible growth and development in Ngie and beyond.

According to Stephen Ujambeng, “Our youths are our greatest asset. By engaging them in constructive activities, such as sports; we are encouraging discipline, unity, healthy competition and peaceful coexistence. With this and together we can build a stronger and prosperous Ngie”, he said.

As the tournament progresses, enthusiasm is said to be on the increase. Spectators are reportedly turning out in large numbers to support their teams daily.

On behalf of the youth, Barister Umenjoh Felix and other elite said, “The youth of Ngie Subdivision extends thanks to he Excellency for bringing them together through sports”

For many in the locality, this holiday sports tournament is more than a sporting event. It is a symbol of hope, reconciliation and renewed commitment to empowering the next generation.

With the palpable results for a permanent return of peace and unity already being perceived, residents in Ngie have continued to appeal for similar initiatives in the future. They are confident that sustained investment in youth development will help build a more united, peaceful and productive Ngie youth.
