Expected to bring together the region’s traditional rulers, political elite, elected officials, party militants and supporters, organisers are intent on making 25 July a memorable day in Bafoussam.
On 25 July 2026, people of the West region will converge on the Omnisports Stadium in Toket for a grand rally to thank President Paul Biya following the election of the Rt Hon. Theodore Datouo as Speaker of the National Assembly.The event will provide the people of the West Region with an opportunity to express their gratitude to the Head of State for the confidence bestowed on one of their own and to reaffirm their steadfast attachment to the ideals of the CPDM and its National President.
The final stages of preparations have been reviewed during several meetings held in Yaounde under the chairmanship of Dr KomidorNjimoluh Hamidou, Head of the West Regional Permanent Delegation of the CPDM Central Committee. Government ministers from the region, heads of the eight divisional permanent delegations, parliamentarians and other senior party officials during the meeting on 15 July examined the level of preparedness and agreed on measures to ensure the success of the gathering.
Organisers expect each of the region’s eight divisions to bring at least 2,500 militants, while members of the West Region diaspora will also join the celebration. The programme will feature cultural performances, testimonies and addresses reflecting the significance of the occasion.Logistical arrangements, the distribution of responsibilities and the sequence of activities have already been harmonised to guarantee the smooth running of the event. The organisers are equally putting the finishing touches to the stadium layout to accommodate the anticipated turnout.More than a “thank you” rally, the gathering will serve as a renewed demonstration of the West Region’s confidence in President Paul Biya and its unwavering support for the CPDM.
