BABADJOU : NW Elite Join Governor Lele Lay Mother To Rest

Ma’a Lagmago Madeleine, deceased mother of North West Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique has been interned in her Babadjou residence, Saturday February 19.

Accompanying the regional boss to mourn with his family was a college of elite of the North West who made their physical presence, a support to a senior collaborator. Among the elite of the North West who accompanied the senior civil administrator who has been shepherding the region for close to ten years now was former Prime Minister and North West Permanent Coordinator of the ruling CPDM, Philemon Yang.
Representing the Circle of Friends, CERAC women and First Lady, Chantal Biya was the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Supreme State Audit, Mbah Acha Rose who is also Permanent Divisional Coordinator of the CPDM for Momo.
Members of government, parliamentarians, civil administrators, religious and traditional leaders from the region all converged on Babadjou to bid fare well to Mama Madelaine, mother of their friend, leader, boss and collaborator.
Ma’a Lagmago Madeleine Epse Tchoffo Michel died at the age of 83. Her mortal remains were at the Bamenda Regional Hospital Morgue until conveyed to the West Region on Thursday February 18. Prior to conveyance of the remains to Babadjou, a requiem mass was said in her honour at the St Joseph Metropolitan Cathedral of the Bamenda Archdiocese.
Her affiliation to the church which earned her many positions of leadership in church groups, won the hearts of prelates who answered present to say last prayers to the Matriach of Babadjou, among them His Grace Andrew Nkea, Archbishop of the Bamenda Ecclesiastical Province. Traditional leaders, economic operators, security officials from the North West Region equally threw in their sympathy to mourn with the Tchoffos.
The bemoaning Governor Lele remembers his mother for the role she played in bringing him to Christianity. “I militated in different schools of thought that didn’t have belief in God. But one day, thanks to my mother’s ceaseless faith, God caught me at the age of me becoming a Governor and brought me close to His side”.
