new year 2023 : Mrs. Chantal Biya Receives Best Wishes

After two years of restriction on the traditional new year wishes activity, Cameroonian First Lady on January 7, 2023 communed with spouses of diplomats accredited to Yaounde and national dignitaries.

The women who had come to wish her well in the New Year, met the ever radiant and cheerful First Lady in top form. She poured out great love through the sharing of warm hugs and handshakes, her generous smiles and laughter.
Best wishes for the Year were presented to the First Lady by spouses of diplomats accredited to Yaounde, female national dignitaries as well as officials of non-governmental organizations. The event, a happy reunion that saw many more women who could not be at the state house glued to their Television sets to watch their role model enjoy the start of another New Year, having braved the challenges of the past two years.
Mrs. Chantal Biya, who is the honorary president of the WCPDM is a very good example to the Cameroonian woman who admires her for being very supportive to her husband President Paul Biya. Besides being a good wife and mother, she is also hardworking.
She was acknowledged at the event by Annie Biffot, wife of the Gabonese Ambassador to Cameroon and dean of the diplomatic corps. According to Mrs. Annie Biffot, “Covid-19 and the hardness of the year 2022, did not stop the First Lady from carrying out humanitarian activities”, she said. Mrs. Chantal Biya who is UNESCO’s Goodwill ambassador “has embarked on actions reflective of her title. Through the Circle of Friends of Cameroon (CERAC), the charitable and social inclusion works of the First Lady geared at helping the vulnerable population are on.
Female lawmakers, mayors, officials of civil society organizations, female entrepreneurs and many more present at the ceremony all shared beautiful moment with the First Lady. They also exchanged gifts and took pictures to immortalize the moment.
Cameroonian artists were also present to animate the ceremony with local music, with the icing on the cake being when the First lady took the rostrum and danced with Ben Decca drawing thunderous applause from the crowd.
