CPDM’s Campaign in the Media : Communication Sub Committee Burns Midnight Lamp

In the drive to see CPDM candidates emerge victorious at the dusk of 12 March 2023, the Moukoko Mbonjo-led team has its back on the wall day in day out to ensure optimum communication.

Campaigns for the senatorial elections are on and though the exercise is still gathering steam, it is already evident that the CPDM intends to leave its mark as in previous electoral rendez-vous. Of the three subcommittees under the Technical Secretariat set up last 16 February, the Communication Sub Committee headed by Prof. Moukoko Mbonjo is charged with the party’s visibility on all media platforms. Cognisant of the stakes, the President of the Committee presided a meeting shortly after the one chaired by Jean Nkuété, SG of the Central Committee to launch the campaigns. The meeting that was attended by vice presidents and members of the Committee, was used to lay down the basics on how to cover the campaign all over the national territory as well as ensuing the elections.
Discussions and suggestions all dwelled on means of using the various media platforms; audio-visual, print and web to pass on information about CPDM’s deployment on the ground. With ten members, four vice presidents and three others in charge of the secretariat, the Committee set to work to prepare the official launching of campaigns on the National TV. From structuring the way the campaign program on Crtv should run and themes to be treated during the two-week exercise, the meeting saw the need to be meticulous at a time when the stakes of the election are high. Also the secretariat produced a communication guide in English and French for campaign teams.
With the official launching of campaigns having been slated for 25 February 2023, the Committee lost no time in setting the stage which was fully occupied by Jean Nkuété, Secretary General of the Central Committee when he set the ball rolling at Crtv. Moukoko Mbonjo, President of the Sub Committee for Communication mobilised his team to ensure the smooth running of the exercise, during which the SG in his declaration urged “municipal and regional councillors from all political persuasions to think essentially of the future of our regions and municipalities … make the only choice that is worthwhile” which is voting for CPDM lists.
With Cecile Epondo Fouda manning the controls regarding the audio-visual aspect, Serge Fotso for his part is in charge of ensuring CPDM campaign on print media. Meanwhile, the digital part is under the watchful eyes of Simon Pagbe, who is constantly on the web and other social media platforms to ensure the Party’s deployment on the ground remains visible.
