Senatorial elections : CPDM North West Launches Campaign

Philemon Yang, Head of the CPDM Campaign team in the North West Region has pledged the consciences of municipal and regional councilors to give back to their party that invested them during the 2020 municipal and regional elections.

“The respective titles and positions you have today is the making of the party and it will be unwise for the party to invest you as candidates and others voted for you, just for you not to vote for the party’s candidates,” Philemon Yang conscientized electorates.
He furthered that “The North West list is that of the CPDM and not that of individuals,” thus, cautioning militants to stick to party fidelity and not be dissuaded from the ideals of the party. The seven candidates representing the region on the ticket of the CPDM, balanced in gender and grassroot representation were presented to militants and sympathizers who turned up at the campaign event.
The regional campaign launch which took place Saturday February 25, saw militants of the party from grassroots to top brass sojourn at the Bamenda Congress Hall to sail the party to victory come March 12. It was a forum that reminded militants to strictly respect the internal organizational text of the Secretary General of the Central Committee as well as laws binding on the electoral procedures of the country.
A total of 1075 municipal councilors and 90 regional councilors are expected to give the CPDM a hundred percent victory in the region at the March 12 polls. Of these 1075 municipal councilors, 1044 are CPDM invested councilors who represent 33 of 34 Councils in the North West. Ninety members constitute regional councilors who shall determine the outcome of the election for the CPDM after March 12.
Having launched the campaigns at the regional level, Divisional and Municipal Campaign Heads have been charged to be methodical in their campaigns, noting that no election is won before election day. They were challenged to retain all CPDM votes and even those of the opposition in order to give the party a hundred percent win in the region.
Campaigns shall hence run till midnight of March 11, 2023 as stipulated by electoral law, guided by the approved standards of Elections Cameroon, ELECAM.
