Section President, CPDM Meme I C, Kumba III

Known for her jovial, outspoken and proactiveness, Barrister Balike Ebanja Victorine is the first lady of the Mukonje clan, in Kumba III subdivision. Her dedication, commitment and steadfastness in the CPDM party, has raised her from the grassroots politics to section president. Born in 1972, in Meme Division, Victorine Ebanja, mother of 9 children, did her Primary and Secondary education in Meme Division before proceeding with her husband to Nigeria, where she studied at the Enugu State University of science and technology to earn her LLB. She later went to the Abuja law school where she obtained a BL in Law. She was called to the Nigerian Bar thereafter.
She returned to Cameroon and was called to the Bar in November 2001.
Her quest for education further pushed her to enroll at the PAN African Institute where she earned a master’s in Peace, Conflict and International Relations. She is a climate change fellow, after completing a training session in PAN African Institute in partnership with the University of Quebec in Canada.
When the Meme I C section was created in 2007, Ebanja Victorine was elected pioneer section Treasurer, a position her held for two terms, before being elected 1st deputy mayor of the Kumba City council in 2020. During the 2022 reorganisation of the party’s basic organs, Ebanja was elected section president of the Meme I C section, being the lone female section President in the South West region.
Her steadfastness in politics stem back from her early days in Tiko, where she participated actively in the Presby pressure group, a pro Biya movement. From there she learned much on mobilisation of supporters. «That’s where my spirit of militancy started, before I returned to do politics in my area of origin. As lone female section President, the challenges are many but with the collaboration of my team we are able to achieve successes» she stressed. She attributed her successes at the helm of the party to support from top party officials in Meme Division, like Senator Andrew Otte Mofa, Hon. Lawson Tabot Bakia and Zacheus Elango Bakoma
