56th National Youth Day : CPDM Youth Celebrate in Pump, Pageantry

The youthful and dynamic arm of the Party last February 11, 2022 joined their peers nationwide to commemorate the 56th edition of the Youth day.

Having listened to Paul Biya, National President of the CPDM and “Father of the Nation” on February 10, youths of the party made a show of their numbers in various localities across the country. Clad in the beautiful purple fabric that distinguishes them from the other wings of the CPDM, the men and women made a great come back after years of not celebrating this day following the outbreak of the Coronavirus. Even in the crisis hit regions of the North West and South West where separatist fighters have struggled in vain to establish their rule, CPDM youths defied the prescribed ghost towns, wore their beautifully tailored party uniform and stormed ceremonial grounds.
From Misaje in Donga Mantung Division of the North West to Alou in Lebialem Division of the South West, the show of bravery by youths in the crisis hit regions was saluted by the political elite and local administration. As the future of the nation, CPDM youth by their acts portray their capability to take the reins by contributing in restoring peace – a prerequisite for the much desired development in their areas. If the youths could muster courage and make a show of their numbers, it is because of the assurances given them by their senior compatriot Paul Biya. Numerous actions are designed to meet their job aspirations and expectations and serve as adequate evidence of government’s solicitude for youths.
Now more than ever, the youth of the CPDM are aware of the important role they have, to preserve Cameroon’s image. Imperatively, they must “turn a deaf ear to clarion calls for destabilisation and antagonism from incorrigible detractors” Paul Biya said on February 10, 2022. For some who were only recently voted into positions of responsibility in various bureaus of Sections during the renewal of the Party’s basic organs, it is of the essence that they reclaim and promote such social and republican values as patriotism, civic mindedness, respect for public property and respect for the elderly to name but these. With the President of the republic having reiterated how dear the problems of Cameroon’s youth are to him, those of the CPDM who have been accompanying the government in finding solutions through diverse fields need to keep up the good work and bring more youths on board the train of change.
