Kumba : CPDM Celebrates Regional Hospital Annex Status

The five sections of the party in Meme Division started the celebration with a thanksgiving march from the newly created Kumba Regional Hospital Annex, to the CPDM party secretariat.

The recent upgrading of the Kumba District hospital to a Regional Hospital Annex, by a presidential decree, provided a platform for the militants to shower more thanks to their national president, in addition to other numerous realisations of the new deal regime in Meme Division.
The militants championed by the five section presidents of the three wings of the party, the head of the CPDM permanent Divisional delegation, the president of the South West Regional Assembly, Directors of central administration, elected parliamentarians and mayors, all clouded the streets of Kumba town, marching and chanting songs of victory, and wishing their national president abundant blessings and good health.
The fanfare, ambiance and massive turnout of militants, portrayed a return to normalcy in the Division. Regarding president Biya’s 40 years at the helm, the different speakers and resource persons narrated the numerous benefits of the new deal government. Infrastructural development such as roads, schools, health facilities as well as human resource development in the appointment and election of Meme sons and daughters into higher positions of responsibility. In the light of the above, they boasted of two sons of Meme occupying bureau positions at the two houses of parliament, the election of a son of Meme as pioneer president of the South West regional assembly, among many.
The general cry of the population and officials to upgrade the Kumba District hospital, which has outgrown it size, to a regional hospital annex, was received with great anxiety. The joy of the elite is that the regional status will attract more experts into the hospital, as well as will spare the population the stress of traveling to other towns and regions for referral cases. To the above a special message of appreciation was addressed to the head of state, for the wonderful gift.
The different speakers such as Justice Benjamin Mutanga Itoe, Senator Andrew Otte Mofa, Hon. Lawson Tabot Bakia, Hon. Zacheus Elango Bakuma, Gregory Mewanu, all in one voice showered positive statements in appreciation to the head of state for what he has done for the people of Meme Division. Inter-sections football tournament sponsored by Senator Andrew Otte Mofa and Hon Lawson Tabot Bakia, traditional display from the different cultural groups in Meme Division, as well as choral music from CPDM women, and the symbolic cutting of the 40th anniversary cake, were some of the activities that added colour to the event.
