Seminar for CPDM Senators : Pertinence of training Appreciated

Newly elected and appointed CPDM senators have extolled the hierarchy of the party for the training which to many was quite timely.

For their five-year mandate, senators under the ticket of the CPDM have been given the necessary tools that would enable them wade across the challenges. With a majority of the senators being freshmen, the party’s hierarchy saw the pertinence of organizing a workshop which was aimed at schooling the senators on the history of the institution and how business is conducted here. Is it not said that knowledge is power? The job description of senators goes beyond scrutinizing and adopting bills tabled to parliament. In fact, understanding the workings of the Upper House of parliament is key to being performant and that is why the CPDM took it upon itself to stop the senators from groveling in the dark because time is of the essence. There is work to be done and the earlier the Senators grasp the reins of their functions the better for the achievement of set goals in due time.
According to senator Enwe Francis, unlike the National Assembly whose functions he understands having been the people’s representative for years, the seminar was a welcome and very timely initiative. “I laud our party’s hierarchy for the seminar which to me was quite enlightening on the roles that we as senators have to play in fostering the development of the various localities. It was also an opportunity to guide us to work in the light of the Party’s expectations which are none other than putting the welfare of our people at the fore. We now also know that we are in the Upper House as one voice and so there is no place for divergence in our ideas”. More than ever before, the development of villages depends on decentralized authorities and the senators have acquired the necessary tools to work in collaboration with the mayors and regional councils to make visible plans and projects geared towards bettering the conditions of the population.
To Senator Nebah Ndosiri Bridget, all the presentations were very pertinent and timely for us new comers. I thank the Secretary General and wish other edifying seminars as this are organized”. Senator Puene Francoise for her part acknowledged that “we got knowledge on the institution, party discipline and I believe all my other colleagues were equally satisfied, reason they asked that the seminar be extended to mayors to avoid overlapping of roles between senators and mayors who are on the field”.
CPDM senators have been armed and the ball is now in their court to deliver the goods and meet the people’s expectations.
